Call for Workshop Abstracts

We invite submissions for Workshop Proposals for the 2025 ESA Conference in Adelaide. Workshops are a key part of our program, providing a collaborative space for skill-building, deep dives into emerging topics, and meaningful engagement across the ecological community.

What We’re Looking For

We encourage diverse, engaging, and relevant workshops that will resonate with conference attendees from academia, practitioners, government, industry, and the broader ecological sector. Ideal proposals should aim to:

  • Address current challenges, innovations, or methodologies in ecological science or practice.
  • Foster interactive learning—this could be through hands-on activities, group discussions, software/tool demonstrations, or collaborative problem-solving.
  • Build cross-sectoral or interdisciplinary capacity, or support early career researchers and students.
  • Cover themes such as (but not limited to):
    • Conservation planning and policy
    • Indigenous ecological knowledge and partnerships
    • Ecological data science and technology
    • Restoration ecology
    • Climate adaptation and resilience
    • Science communication and outreach

Workshops can range from half a day to a full day and will be scheduled on Friday 28 November (the day following the conference) at a local University campus (TBC).

Submission guidelines and a list of Symposia can be found on the portal.

Please contact the conference organisers via email [email protected] or call 1300 878 815 if you have any questions.
